Oak Hill Warriors Win Their Eighth National Championship!

 

It’s finally official, Oak Hill is number one in every national poll!  I’m not sure why ESPN ever even considered that a team with one loss and playing eleven fewer games, could possibly move to the number one spot!

Oak Hill’s Tyler Lewis Named Virginia Player of the Year

 

Tyler has been selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year in Virginia.  He averaged 12 points, 7.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds while leading Oak Hill to an undefeated season and school record of 44-0.

ESPN Writers Say Oak Hill Could Loose Their Number One Ranking?

 

Not sure how this could even be possible, since they are undefeated for the season!  The writers claim that if certain things happen, the number two team (Findlay Prep) could surpass Oak Hill in the rankings!

Tyler Lewis Named to McDonald’s Team!

 

 

The rosters were released on Thursday for the upcoming 2012 McDonald’s All-American Basketball Squads.  Tyler was named to the East Team.  Tyler continues the now twelve year streak, where Oak Hill has at least one player in the McDonald’s game!  Congratulations Tyler!

Oak Hill Academy Basketball Team Accepts Invitation to China
MOUTH OF WILSON, Virginia (February 8, 2012) – Oak Hill Academy and head basketball coach Steve Smith are honored to announce that the 2011-2012 Warriors have been invited by Atlas Sports and the Chinese National Team to represent the United States on a Men’s 18 & Under basketball tour of China.

Oak Hill Defeats Westwind Prep!

 

The Warriors defeated Westwind Prep at home tonight by a score of  83 – 57.  Way to go guys, keep up the hard work!  With this win, the Warriors move to 36 – 0 on the season!  We need nine more wins to finish undefeated this season!

Next the Warriors will face the Maroon Tide of Galax High School.  This game will take place at Galax High School on Thursday, Feb. 9th 2012 at 7pm.

The final game of the week will take place at UNC Asheville’s new Kimmel Arena.  Oak Hill will take on Veritas Christian Academy.  This game will be Friday, Feb. 10th 2012 at 7:30pm.

Warriors Record Improves Again! 34-0

Oak Hill pulled off another win in Bristol Tennessee tonight!  They handed West Oaks High School from Orlando Florida their first loss on the season.  Way to go guys!  The season's record is now 34-0!  Awesome job, keep it up!!

Oak Hil defeats Arlington Country Day

Oak Hill defeated Arlington Country Day tonight in Beckley West Virginia.  The final score was Oak Hill 77  -  Arlington Country Day 52.  The Warriors move to 33-0 on the season.  Way to go guys!

Schedule Update!

There have been a couple of changes to the remainder of the schedule.

First, Oak Hill will not be competing in the PrimeTime Shootout in New Jersey this year.  Those games would have been played on February 11th & 12th.

Second, two games have been added to the schedule.  The first will be February 9th, at 7 pm, in Galax Virginia against Galax High School.  The second will be on February 10th, at 7:30 pm, in Asheville North Carolina against Veritas Christian.  The Asheville game will be played at Kimmel Arena.

After checking all the ranking links I have posted here, I find that The Warriors are listed as Number 1 in every one!!  I really hope that they can stay undefeated and on top this year!  Keep playing hard guys and let's see you grab another National Championship!

Beginning

Hello,

My name is Monte and I am starting this blog to try to have a place for people to share information with each other about Oak Hill Academy Basketball.  Sometimes in the past, it has been difficult if not impossible for myself and others to find infomation about our favorite high school team.  I am going to try my best, with your help to remedy that situation.  I am going to attempt to enable people visiting, the ability to post their own information to the blog.  I hope this goes as planned, but bear with me as I am learning as I go.
